DIAGNOSTICS

Over the last few decades, car designs have moved away from mechanical means of engine control to electronic control. Modern vehicles incorporate a multitude of sensors that monitor various engine functions and relay the information back to the car's computer.

Diagnosing control issues in modern cars is not a straightforward matter, it requires special diagnostic equipment and can be time-consuming due to the interaction between sensors and systems.

The “check engine” or “service engine” lights alert you to the fact that your vehicle’s computer has detected abnormal readings from one or several sensors on your vehicle. When a warning light is displayed, we recommend that the car be booked in for a check as soon as possible.

Your car may still be running fine with the light on but ignoring the light could risk damaging expensive components in your vehicle and create an unsafe situation.

As always, It's better to be safe than sorry!
